Bus service saved!

Lib Dem councillors in Garston have worked with local residents to save a bus service threatened with cancellation.

After operator Mullany's announced they would be pulling out of running the R8 which serves Kingswood and Leavesden Green, Cllr Tim Williams started a petition which was backed by hundreds of local residents.

Tim met with Herts County Council who agreed the service was 'socially necessary' and agreed to run a trial service to and from the Dome supermarkets. This trial has been successful and the bus will continue to run.

Tim and his Lib Dem colleagues Cllrs Derek Scudder and Keith Crout are encouraging residents to use the service regularly to ensure it is retained permanently - and they are making the case for the R8 to run into the town centre again.
