End Mental Health Stigma

The Lib Dems believe mental health should not be ignored or stigmatised. It should be taken as seriously as physical health.

Join our campaign to End Mental Health Stigma

Nationally, we are using £400 million to help people with mental health problems get the right support early on, such as talking or psychological therapies. We are also introducing waiting limits, so people will know for the first time how long they have to wait for mental health treatment.

Join our campaign today to improve mental health services and end the stigma!

My mum suffered terribly from mental health problems, this I believe was strongly fuelled by the appalling care and lack of treatment she received at Watford general hospital. My mum sadly passed away from a heart attack 2 years ago at the age of just 54, she had never suffered with any heart problems previously and it was put down to stress.

We strongly believe had she of been given the correct care and support she deserved and needed then this situation wouldn’t of ended in such tragedy.

Mental health problems affects so many people, it’s a medical condition which is brushed aside and forgotten about within the NHS, a person with a broken arm wouldn’t be sent home with no treatment and left to suffer, so why should a person suffering with a mental health condition?
