Q: Please give us more information about this issue.
A: Alley way between Hare Crescent into Woodside Estate causing a problem with litter, dog mess, broken glass & scooters been ridden late at night & sometimes during the day. This is a busy alleyway used by all, we have cleaned it up ourselves a few times but although there is a bin on the green we feel it would benefit from a bin in the alley. Look forward to your response Karen.

A: Car parts and damaged/written off cars keep being dumped in Ellenbrook Close, North Watford. Eyesore and taking up a much needed parking space.

A: Please for love of God give Ringway a kick up the rear & get on with fixing the sinkhole. It’s been 5 days now & no effort made to repair it. I saw 2 guys stare at it today & that was that. The traffic is diabolical & I’m shocked that a major road with a hospital in it is not seen as a priority. Why do we even use Ringway? We fined them for being rubbish but still use them. Whippendale Road closes on the 10th for several evenings too so the route we are all currently having to use shuts too. Please use whatever powers of persuasion you have to get Ringway on this immediately before it gets even worse.

A: Every day there is a huge amount of litter at the end of Ridge Street. This is often thrown across the street by foxes overnight with nappies, food and other items spread across the pavement. This seems a prime spot for fly tipping with furniture, fridges and other large household goods often finding themselves alongside the multitude of black bags. This is cleared up on a daily basis however this simply does not get to the root of the problem. How do the Liberal Denocrats propose to keep this area tidy and to stay tidy?

A: The footbridge over the railway between Oxhey Road and Watford Heath is in a terrible condition. The wooden sides are rotting away at the base exposing lots of nails. Children use the bridge every day, running and on scooters. I’m really worried someone will fall into a rusty nail. Please can it be repaired? Thanks

Q: Please give us more information about this issue.
A: There are two issues firstly one concerning my road: Windsor Road which is about speeding. I did complain to the county council back in January 2012 and they did a speed check which showed the median speed to be, in their eyes, acceptable. My view is that for a narrow residential road with cars parked on both sides, which only allows one direction at a time 30 m.p.h. is too fast and twenty would indeed be plenty. Also it was noticeable at the time of the check cars were going more slowly probably because they perceive that wires across the road might be a speed trap. I should add that Windsor road is used as a rat run to avoid the traffic lights between Balmoral and St Albans Road. I would like to see speed restraints put in place: a couple of speed bumps would do the job. Why do the roads in Tudor ward have speed bumps and we, in Callowland, don’t? The other issue is the continuing poor state of the wide pavement next to the lights between Balmaoral and St Albans Road, which continues for a good 100 metres in the Watford direction. The pavement has been in a poor state for quite some time now and it is about time something was done about it. It is unsightly and maybe, in its unevenness, dangerous.

A: Balmoral road was recently closed for resurfacing, however, they have only done works on the bottom section up to the bridge. The road surface is awful at the top but there doesn’t seem to be any plan in place to complete this section. Any update on what is happening on this?

Q: Please give us more information about this issue.
A: Please could someone do something about the taxi drivers who are continually parking at the junction of St John’s Road and Franklin Road. They will park, obstructing the junction with their engines running late at night. This causes excessive pollution to leak into our house and the engines are very noisy. A range of different taxis have taken to use this area as their “break” spot and this happens every evening late into the night. Thanks

A: I would like to understand when the new school in Croxley will open as there is a shortage of secondary school places but I understand that Herts county council haven’t acquired the land yet. If the school doesn’t open on time what is the plan for the shortage of places? Thanks

A: The paving slabs particularly on my street (Berceau Walk) and between Berceau and the roundabout by McColls, are really unacceptable. I know I trip on them constantly, so I’d hate to think about how all my elderly neighbours cope. My grandma who used to live on the street used to walk in the road rather than on the pavement in order to avoid them. What is being done to improve them?

A: Council gave permission for our estate to be built with only 3 visitors spaces for 17 houses and flats. This means cars park in an antisocial way and one was damaged . We are on the main dual carriageway so you cant park their. A way to resolve the issue would be to replace the grass verge outside the close with a lay by like the other side of the road

A: I moved in last year to a new house in Cecil St. I have parking at the rear along with 3 other occupiers we have issues with cars being parked over our access and egress drive that makes it very difficult to get in and out and we fear we will be hit by a vehicle whilst trying to get in or out. I have photographs if required.

A: Hi I need a light removed from my property which is causing obstruction to my drive as I can’t get a vehicle in and with restrictions in place on the road as they are find parking a very big issue. If this street light could be removed it would solve my biggest nightmare

Q: Please give us more information about this issue.
A: Hi We just received your news letter delivered by Darren Walford – thanks for that
I was please to read that some pot holes were going to be patched up in Balmoral Road – thank god for that the surface is totally wrecked and you need some form of heavy duty off road vehicle to get down the road, if there was some way of getting rid of the ridiculous speed humps and bumps people could actual drive normal cars in reasonable comfort. The upgrade recently carried out out the shops by the Tudor Pub are bit of a disappointment I was thinking it would be similar to the other side ( outside the Pharmacy) and will the other section be done as well (opposite the pub) as this looks tatty as well.
Sorry to moan but seems only half a job to me ?
Keep up the good work ( please sort out the pot holes my cars getting bashed to bits!)
    Thanks
    Steve

A: Not sure if this is the right place for this, Friday 15th April approx 15.45hrs, in The Parade/High Street, under the flyover, by McDonalds, 3 or 4 girls,, who only looked about fourteen, although I might be wrong, were smoking, all wearing Watford Grammar School Uniforms.
