Cassiobury Park Memorial Benches and Bench Removal

24 Apr 2023

Residents may have noticed there are 7 new Memorial benches in Cassiobury Park. These have been installed in popular locations across the park, for example near the bandstand and the cedar tree.

The memorials are mostly for lost family relatives who lived near or had a connection to Cassiobury Park. One customer wanted a bench to show appreciate of the park during covid. Each bench caries an engraved plaque in memory of the resident or situation.

In addition an existing older park bench near the Stratford Way pedestrian entrance has been removed. This bench was in a secluded location amongst bushes. Parkside Drive residents (whose gardens back onto the area) told your local councillors that it was an attraction for anti-social behaviour and drug-related activity.
