Watford Council Driving Towards a Greener Future

19 May 2023

Watford is making significant strides to supporting electric vehicles, thanks to successful funding bid from Lib Dem Watford Council. In the coming months, 79 new electric vehicle charging points will be installed across the town, transforming travel in Watford.

Watford Lib Dems have declared a climate emergency and has set ambitious targets to support greener transport options. This has already led to Watford to be placed in the top 5 places in the country for green transport.

The additional EV charging points, bringing the total to 112, will mean that more and more residents and visitors to Watford will have access to charge their vehicle and will encourage more people to make the switch to electric.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said:

“This expansion of charging points shows our commitment to supporting greener transport options here in Watford. More and more people have contacted me asking about electric vehicle infrastructure and I am proud we are able to provide them so we can drive the positive change we want to see.”
