The Pupil Premium allows schools to fund programmes that try to give a hand up to people from less privileged backgrounds. Some of the things Queens’ school have chosen to spend their money on include a Family Support Worker, who assists parents to support their children, and help towards towards the cost of school trips for individual pupils.

Former Assistant Head of Queens’ School, and Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Dorothy Thornhill said “I'm so pleased that schools like Queens’ have money to spend on what they think will give everyone the best chance in life.”

“I believe every child in Watford should be on a level playing field. It's something I was passionate about when I was a teacher and it's something I'm passionate about now.”
