Showing Solidarity with the Victims of Terrorism

Sunday 22 November at 2.30pm - 2.45pm
Band Stand next to Watford Central Library

The attacks in Paris on Friday were shocking and upsetting. Our thoughts are with all of the victims and their families, and with the people of Paris, who have suffered at the hands of those whose aim is to fuel hatred, division and intolerance.

I know that lots of Watford people would like to show their solidarity with victims of terrorism in Paris and elsewhere, as well as standing up for peace and tolerance. That's why I'm delighted that the Watford Interfaith Association has agreed to hold a vigil as part of their annual Interfaith Pilgrimage this Sunday.

Members of all faiths and none are welcome to join us on Sunday by Watford Central Library, where there will be a two minute silence and some short readings.

I am especially pleased by the support from younger members of our community who have contacted me to ask if we could hold an event like this. It bodes well for our future when so many individuals and groups are willing to stand up and make their voices heard.

You are, of course, very welcome to join the Interfaith Pilgrimage at any point - you can find out more at www.wifa.org.uk
