Councillors walk to all 17 of Watford’s Green Flag Parks for local charity

Watford’s Mayor and Deputy Mayor took to the streets over the weekend to walk around all 17 of Watford’s Green Flag Parks to fundraise for local charity Home Start Watford and Three Rivers.

Mayor Peter Taylor and Deputy Mayor, Aga Dychton, were joined along the 21.2km walk by various councillors all in support of the fantastic work that Home Start do to support vulnerable local families.

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, said “It was such a pleasure to walk around Watford’s 17 Green Flag Parks in aid of Home Start Watford. Albeit slightly soggy at the end, the walk was a great way to spend a few hours, raising vital funds for such a good cause.

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored Aga and I, the money is going to a fantastic local charity who support local families through their toughest times.”

Deputy Mayor of Watford, Aga Dychton, said “Despite the rain, we had a lovely time walking to all of Watford’s award winning parks, knowing it was all in support of giving children the best start in life. If you are able to make a donation we would be grateful of any amount no matter how small!”
