elections in May, Alex Murray has been welcomed by Liberal Democrat Deputy
Leader, Jo Swinson MP, when she visited Watford to support Peter
Taylor's mayoral campaign.

Alex Murray explained, "I have been impressed with the record of the
Liberal Democrat team locally. They have improved the town's parks and
open spaces and we have an excellent recycling service. I am pleased that

national level I support the party's commitment to let the people have
their say on the Brexit deal."

The Watford's 2017 Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Ian
Stotesbury, welcomed Alex Murray's decision. He said, "Alex believes that
we need to care for our environment and that countries are stronger when
they work together, rather than try to go it alone. I am delighted that
he has found a home in the Liberal Democrats - a party that believes in
sustainability, internationalism and fairness."

Peter Taylor added, "Naturally I am delighted that a young, enthusiastic
campaigner such as Alex has joined us. We have already been out on the
doorstep chatting with residents. The election in May is set to be a
contest between myself and the Labour candidate. It is great to have new
people joining our campaign to make Watford an even better place to
