Labour need to think again on the Met Line Extension



We the undersigned note that Labour’s Mayor of London has cancelled the planned Metropolitan line extension, which would have linked the line to Watford Junction via West Watford.

We need the Met. Line Extension in Watford to improve our public transport and relieve traffic congestion. Labour have scrapped the scheme – even thought it was signed off, all the money in place and it offered a good financial deal for Transport for London.


We the undersigned call on:

1. London Mayor Sadiq Khan to rethink his decision regarding the Metroplitan Line Extension or at the very least consider allowing the scheme to go out for tender so another provider can complete the works, given the funding for the project already exists.


2. Watford Labour Party and their elected councillors to use their influence in the best interests of the town to persuade the Labour Mayor of London and TfL to rethink their current position
