Sign our petition below to save an important piece of Watford’s history and bring it back into use by local people.
Little Cassiobury House on Hempstead Road is a Grade 2* listed building, which means it is of exceptional interest and outstanding importance. Little Cassiobury was built late in the 17th century as the dower house of the Earl of Essex's Cassiobury Estate.
Sadly, Little Cassiobury has fallen into disrepair and is currently listed as “at risk” by English Heritage. At the moment it’s owned by Hertfordshire County Council, but they are considering selling it.
Instead of lying empty, we want Watford Council to buy this beautiful building to keep it in public ownership, and, with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other agencies, restore it and put it to use by local people as an arts centre.

I believe that Little Cassiobury House should be kept in public ownership, restored with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other agencies, and put to use in the community as an arts centre.
