A community group and Watford councillors have organised and delivered hundreds of festive gifts for local elderly and vulnerable people.
Courtlands Residents Association and Nascot's Liberal Democrat councillors, Mark Hofman and Tom Osborn, handed out two hundred and fifty Christmas treat boxes to local care homes and other vulnerable residents last week.
Residents and staff at Tremona Rest Home, Hollytree House, Greenbanks Care Home, Courtlands Lodge and Victoria House were given wrapped and labelled boxes of chocolates. The parcels were paid for with donations from the Courtlands Residents Association community group and local councillors.
Liberal Democrat Councillor for Nascot ward, Mark Hofman, said: “This Christmas will be another challenging time for our care home residents.
“Covid restrictions and not being able to see all of their family and friends will be difficult for many of our elderly and vulnerable neighbours, and the carers who work tirelessly to ensure their residents are well looked after.
“That’s why it is more important than ever that we let them know that we’re thinking of them during this testing period and share our good wishes in any way that we can.”
