Relevant experience:

Peter was first elected to Council in 2011 and served until 2015, then worked for a couple of years and stood for election again in 2017. He is standing to be re-elected this year. His main role for the past four years has been as Chair of Watford's Development Management Committee. Before becoming a Councillor, he was an Architect for 40 years, so has extensive experience of design and development, which gives him useful knowledge and experience for his DMC role.

He is a member of the 20's Plenty for Watford group, which works towards establishing a default 20mph speed limit on all of our residential roads. For around five years he was a lead volunteer for Community DriveSafe, an initiative by the Police and Crime Commissioner. The team of volunteers gives their time to monitoring road speeds and reporting those exceeding the speed limit. They were successful in reducing average road speeds in Park Ward and introducing permanent speed indicating signs to help slow traffic.

He is also a committed European and believes we should re-join the EU at the earliest possible opportunity.

The Lib Dem values that mean the most to Peter are...

Being a Lib Dem means being tolerant, open and outward looking in our dealings personally, locally and internationally. Peter believes in treating everyone fairly and working together to reduce the huge inequalities which exist between the haves and have-nots in our society.

Peter enjoys living in Watford because...

Watford is ideally placed to enjoy easy access to the countryside on the one hand and the cultural attractions of London on the other. It is so conveniently placed in terms of public transport, having easy access in all directions.

Living in Park Ward means we are always in easy reach of our wonderful Cassiobury park and only a short walk to local amenities and to the Town Centre. It is the ideal place to live.

For a bit of fun, when asked about his favourite food Peter said...

Nut roast, with sprouts, parsnips and roasties. I've been a life long vegetarian!
