Your local Lib Dem Councillors are leading the campaign to stop the increased capacity of the dump. Just before Christmas, the Conservative run County Council released the plans to enlarge the dump.
An increase in the size of the dump on Meriden estate would mean:
- 125,000 extra tonnes of waste driven through local streets
- Industrial waste causing local pollution
- Possibly hundreds of extra lorries clogging up local roads
But local residents and the local Lib Dem team are determined to help you make your voice heard.
Jenny Pattinson, councillor for Meriden, said “Local Lib Dem Councillors are completely opposed to the increase in the size of the dump and we will fight them all way. But we can’t do this on our own. The more people who sign our petition, the stronger the message to the Conservative run County Council that they must stop this increase.”
We, the undersigned, call upon Herts County Council, to stop the increased capacity of the dump on the Meriden estate.
