Relevant experience:

Jenny is currently a ward councillor for Watford Borough Council representing the people that live in Meriden Ward. During her time as a Borough Councillor she has spoken in the Chamber representing the views of the residents of Meriden on issues such as the development of the Garston Bus Garage, changes to waste collections and speeding traffic. She is working to ensure our parks and open spaces are well kept and continually improved as they have become havens for our residents during the past year.

Outside of her Councillor role she volunteers at New Hope – The Haven in West Watford, where for the past year she has supported the Street Outreach Team in making and delivering food to Watfords rough sleeper population whilst accommodated during lock down. She now volunteers at the weekends supporting cooking and serving food to those who need it from the Haven in West Watford.

In her professional life, she works in Adult Social Care and is currently the Director for Older People’s Services for the Salvation Army, responsible for the operational leadership of their 12 Care Homes nationally. She is passionate about people receiving the best quality care, whether that be clinically, emotionally or socially and will work towards achieving that for Watford both as a Councillor and as a resident.

The Lib Dem values that mean the most to Jenny are...

Championing the freedom, dignity and well being of individuals. She does this every day at work where she is responsible for ensuring the safe care and fulfilling the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.

Jenny enjoys living in Watford because...

She was born and brought up in Watford, her children were born here and are growing up in Watford. She has watched Watford change and develop. Watford is a friendly, diverse and welcoming town. The closeness to London and the Countryside make Watford ideal for any family. She loves to cycle and the development of cycle paths in the town is really exciting.

For a bit of fun, when asked about her favourite food Jenny said...

I’m a vegetarian and love any kind of veggie curry or chilli
