Tories refuse to review Watford commuter fares

The Conservative government has rejected a proposed zoning review of Watford’s railway stations – a move that would have seen train fares slashed by half. A government minister denied a request from the Liberal Democrats’ Shadow Transport Secretary Wera Hobhouse asking for an independent review of publicly-funded body Transport for London’s zoning policy for Watford and Bushey stations.

New Trees Planted

Watford Borough Council are currently in the process of planting a record number of street trees in Watford, and there’s eleven trees earmarked for Stanborough ward, whilst Tim Williams has also funded a further ten trees from his County Council Locality budget with number for St Albans Road to protect and enhance the much-loved avenue of trees for future generations.

Footpath 30 Realigned 

Several residents have spoken to us about the difficulty they have climbing the very steep section of Footpath 30 where it crosses West Herts Golf Course. Just before Christmas, Cllr Peter Jeffree met with the WBC Parks Manager and HCC's Footpaths Officer to discuss the problem.
