Salt bin on the Brow sorted

After finding a local salt bin flooded, full of litter and with no salt in it the local Woodside Councillors quickly had the bin cleared, cleaned and refilled ready for any further cold snaps and for next winter. Tim Williams and Richard Wenham inspected the salt bin while out calling on residents last Saturday morning.

Tories refuse to review Watford commuter fares

The Conservative government has rejected a proposed zoning review of Watford’s railway stations – a move that would have seen train fares slashed by half. A government minister denied a request from the Liberal Democrats’ Shadow Transport Secretary Wera Hobhouse asking for an independent review of publicly-funded body Transport for London’s zoning policy for Watford and Bushey stations.

New Trees Planted

Watford Borough Council are currently in the process of planting a record number of street trees in Watford, and there’s eleven trees earmarked for Stanborough ward, whilst Tim Williams has also funded a further ten trees from his County Council Locality budget with number for St Albans Road to protect and enhance the much-loved avenue of trees for future generations.

A partnered project to insulate 34 Watford Community Housing Trust (WCHT) homes in Crossmead has recently started.  The project is part of a successful £3m bid between Watford Borough Council (WBC), Three Rivers District Council, Thrive and WCHT to externally insulate social properties.
