W3RT are holding a Seniors Forum on the 23rd March between 12.30 and 3pm at The Barn, 1 Watford House Lane, WD17 1BJ. The focus of the event will be Voter ID, Pension Credit, Scams related to Pre-Funeral Plans, Wellbeing and Volunteering.

New Path Installed in Garston Park

Following concerns raised by users of Garston Park, we’re pleased that a properly constructed footway has been installed from Coates Dell to the alleyway at Chichester Way. This new footway allows for a wider variety of people to get out and about with an improved surface.

Callowland Ward Skip Day 

Callowland Skip Day was a great success, residents were very grateful to Callowland Councillors Dawn and Ian for providing the skips and helping to clear up the area. Dawn said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Mayor Peter Taylor, all the volunteers and residents who helped to secure the spaces for the skips and for helping on the day. You are all appreciated and I am sure you will agree our ward looks better!”

‘Forget me not café’ returns to West Herts College

A new restaurant for people with dementia and their carers will reopen next week. The idea, which is a collaboration between Watford Council and West Herts College, is to create an inter-generational Dementia-Friendly dining experience, delivered by students at the college.

Forestry Work in Whippendell Woods

Annual forestry works are taking place this week in Whippendell Woods. The work includes tree thinning in the area highlighted in yellow on the right-hand side of the map. The contractors will also do some path widening from the Rousebarn Lane car park to the corner of the wood by Jacotts Nursery end, shown in yellow on left-hand side of the map.

Standing with Ukraine

Residents gathered at the Peace Memorial on the morning of 24th February to mark the passing of one year since Russia began their brutal invasion of Ukranian territory. Luther Blissett and Deputy Mayor Aga Dychton marked this tragic anniversary with one minute's silence and then raised the Ukrainian flag. They were joined by many members of the Ukrainian community, who have made Watford their home, as well as representatives from Watford Council.
