Remove Parking Charges at Bridgewater Surgeries

Bridgewater GP Surgeries on Printers Avenue, off Whippendell Road serves as a vital healthcare centre in the area, providing essential medical services to patients. Many rely on this facility not only for critical health services but also as a welcoming place where they feel understood and supported.

On 8th August patients were informed that they will now need to pay for parking after charges were suddenly introduced. The change has been implemented with no notice or consultation by the estate management company for the private development containing Bridgewater Surgeries.

The imposition of parking fees will disproportionately affect those who need care most. Elderly patients may choose to delay vital appointments due to financial concerns, posing significant health risks. Disabled individuals who require special transportation could face logistical and financial barriers, leading to fewer visits. Caregivers who accompany vulnerable patients may find frequent visits financially untenable.
