Cllr Dawn Allen-Williamson
(Local Councillor)
Dawn Allen-Williamson was elected as Councillor for Callowland Ward in May 2019, winning with a strong majority. She made history as the first Black Chairwoman of Watford Borough Council and continues to serve with integrity, energy, and care.
Guided by her commitment to community, inclusion, and compassion, Dawn keeps residents informed and involved in local decisions. She serves on the Licensing Committee, Licensing Sub-Committee, Chief Officer Pay Panel Committee, and Standards Committee, promoting fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Faith plays an important role in her life, and she attends Elim Pentecostal Church for strength and guidance. She supports the Manna Food Bank and Ngorli CIC, ensuring access to food, education, and opportunities for children.
Passionate about giving back, Dawn has raised funds for dementia awareness, homelessness, and mental health, and was proud to be named Top Fundraiser at the Big Sleep Out at Vicarage Road Stadium.
Cllr Richard Short
(Local Councillor for Callowland and County Councillor for North Watford)
Richard Short better known as Shorty has lived in Watford all his life and is passionate about his home town and continuing to make it a safe and clean place to live.
He won back to back elections firstly in 2024 as a Watford BC Councillor and then in May 2025 when he was elected to Hertfordshire County Council.
He has worked in the Office Supplies industry for 40 years and was also the match day compare at both Watford FC and for the Football Association at Wembley Stadium. He is seen daily litter picking with his dog, Truffle, around the area including Callowland Rec.
