New Pothole Repair Trial Launched in Watford to Tackle More Roads, Faster

29 Jun 2025

Hertfordshire County Council is trialling a new pothole repair scheme in North Watford aimed at fixing more potholes in a single visit, as part of the Lib Dem-run administration’s action plan for their first 100 days in office.

The scheme - named ‘one visit, more impact’ - aims to repair all potholes in a specific areas instead of only repairing the largest potholes reported, improving efficiency and reducing the need for repeat visits. This approach is designed to save money, minimise disruption, and keep roads safer and in better condition for longer.

This is one of the first major decisions since the Liberal Democrats became the largest group at County Hall after the local elections in May 2025. This trial is part of the Liberal Democrats' ongoing commitment to improving local services and delivering for Hertfordshire residents.
