Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, has written to GP practices to congratulate them on receiving high scores in the 2026 GP Patient Survey.

91% of respondents described their overall experience of Bridgewater Surgeries as good – the highest level of all surgeries in Watford, and far surpassing the national average of 77%.

At The Elms Surgery, 95% of respondents said that they find the reception and administration team is helpful. They topped the table for Watford surgeries in this category, and beat the national average of 85%.

Peter Taylor said: “Ensuring Watford is a healthy and happy town is one of top my priorities, which is why I have written to congratulate and thank Bridgewater and The Elms surgeries on their particularly high scores.

“It is important that everyone can access their GP practice and feels listened to and supported by them.

“I am pleased to see that all Watford GP practices have scored well in a number of areas, with no one practice causing particular concern.

“However, I would like to see an improved phone service in most practices. Technological advancements are a great way of increasing the methods of communication with a practice, but it’s important that those who do not have sufficient access to online resources are not left behind.”
