The Liberal Democrats were the big winners in May’s local elections.

• Peter Taylor was re-elected as Watford’s Mayor for a third term with 52.6% of the vote and a majority of nearly 10,000 votes.

• The Liberal Democrats won all 12 councillor ward contests across the town - the first time this has ever been achieved. 

• The party made two gains from Labour in Vicarage and Holywell.

Newly re-elected Mayor Peter Taylor says: “It has been a huge honour to serve as Watford’s Mayor since 2018 and I thank you all for putting your trust in me for a third time.

"The local Liberal Democrats have worked hard for many years to make Watford a better place for everyone. We will continue to fight for better public services, keep bills as low as possible and help residents all year round.”
